NUNNE GONGURA





INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:

gongura :1 bunch / u can see how much quantity i took.
garlic cloves :10
greenchillies :3
coriander powder :1/2 tspn
fenugreek powder : 1/4tspn
cumin seeds powder :1/4 tspn
salt :1tspn
chillypowder :3/4 tspn
oil :2 tbspns
cumin seeds, mustard seeds: little
turmeric :little
dry red chilly :1

PREPARATION:

  • First takeout leaves from stems.

  • clean them in water and dry them on a cloth.

  • Heat a pan add oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, dry red chilly, green chillies (slitted length wise), fenugreek powder, garlic cloves. Fry them nicely.

  • Now add dried gongura leaves and mix well. u get like this.

  • After frying for 5 mins add salt,chillypowder, corianderpowder, turmeric and cumin powder.Mix well.

  • When oil separates out then u can switch off stove and change to dry bowl.

  • This will be good for nearly 1 week.(this dish requires little more spicyness than wat we prepare regularly to overcome the sourness of gongura.)

    Tried this recipie came out very well, very tasty... but in the last step, was waiting for oil to come out but it got burnt, had also put 6tsp of oil for 2 bunches... any sugessions??

    Hi Sandhya, after u add leaves it gets withered in 2 minutes after that add all spices and cook for 5 mins and switchoff stove. U dont need to wait till oil oozes . For gongura like dishes always try to use a nonstick pan so it wont stuck and put ur flame in medium or sim . Thats it try this 3 tips this time and enjoy the dish.

    Thanks a lott preethi, will surely try it out... you know i need this dish every day for everything :)how do you prepare gongura pickle can you pls post that recipie as well... my family is very fond of gongura dishes :)
