Toor dal : 1/2 rice cooker cup
Dry red chillies : 3
Garlic : 1 pod
Cumin seeds : 1/2 tspn
Tamarind : 2-3 pods
Coconut: 2 tspn
Salt : as required
Ingredients for Talimpu:-
Oil : 2 tspn
Cumin seeds : 1/4 tspn
Mustard seeds : 1/4 tspn
Asafoetida : pinch of
Curry leaves : 1 sprig
Preparation:-
- Heat a pan and add 1 tspn oil , add toor dal , cumin seeds , dry red chillies and fry on medium flame till dal turns its color and then switch off stove. Add coconut , garlic pieces and enough salt. Let this cool.
- Soak tamarind.
- Grind fried items and tamarind with little amount of water.
- Put talimpu with the above listed ingredients and mix with chutney.
- serve it with hot rice and ghee.

ReplyDeleteAll the recipies are very useful ...what I like most is that they come in handy in the day to day life......but one thing missing is the shelf life.....kindly mention how long can the preparation be stored.......
