INGREDIENTS REQUIRED :-
Spinach / palak : 1 big bunch (20 -30 stems nearly )
potatoes : 2 medium sized
onions :2
green chilly : 1
sesamam seeds : 1tspn
oil : 2 tbspns
cinnamon stick : 1 inch piece
cardamom : 1
clove :1
ginger garlic paste : 3/4 tspn
salt : 1 tspn
chilly powder : 1/2 tspn
coriander powder : 1/4 tspn
turmeric : 1/4 tspn
garam masala powder : 1/4 tspn
cumin powder : 1/4 tspn
tamarind : blue berry sized
coriander leaves : 5 strigs.
PREPARATION :-
- Dry fry sesamam seeds and grind it to powder.
- Clean palak and chop them into pieces. Boil this chopped spinach in plenty of water along with 1/2 tspn sugar .
- Boil potatoes in cooker and peel out their skin and chop them into pieces. sprinkle 1/4 tspn salt on chopped potatoes and mix well.
- Grind chopped onions and greenchilly. In the same container add boiled & strained palak and grind to a paste.
- Now heat a kadai add 2 tbspns oil . Add cinnamon stick , cardamom and a clove . immediately add ginger garlic paste and after a min add grinded paste.
- Fry for 5 mins and then add salt , chilly powder , turmeric , coriander powder , sesamam powder , cumin powder and garam masala powder.
- After 2 mins add chopped potatoes and mix well.
- Add tamarind juice and add water to ur required consistency.
- Boil this nicely till oil separates .
- Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
- If u like u can add little fresh cream.
- Tasty aloo palak is ready to serve with rotis / naan / rice.
- Serve with raw onions and a piece of lemon.
