INGREDIENTS REQUIRED :-
Oil : 3 tspns
urad dal : 5 tbspns
groundnuts : handful
bengal gram : 4 tbspns
fenugreek seeds : 1 tspn
dry red chillies : 20-25
coriander seeds : 4 tbspns
sesemam seeds : 2 tbspns
cumin seeds :1/2 tbspn
mustard seeds : 1/2 tbspn
dry tamarind : 2 lemon sized pieces
curry leaves :1 bunch
salt : 3 tspns
sugar :2 tspns
garlic pods : 10 -15
PREPARATION :-
- Heat a pan add oil , when it is heated add urad dal. After 5 mins add groundnuts , bengal gram and fenugreek seeds. Fry them nicely.
- When they turn golden brown add dry red chillies , coriander seeds , sesemam seeds.
- After 2 mins add cumin seeds , mustard seeds , dry tamarind pieces and dry curry leaves .
- After all gets fried switchoff the stove.
- When it cools add salt , sugar.
- Grind all the contents in dry mixcy container.
- When it is half done add garlic pods and again grind .
- Dont grind to a fine powder it should be little grainy.
- Idly karapodi is ready to serve with hot idly and a dolop of ghee.
