INGREDIENTS REQUIRED :
chama dumpalu : 5 small / medium size
onion : 1 big
tomato : 1 big
green chillies : 3
oil : 2 tspns
cloves : 2
cardamoms : 2
cinnamon stick : 1 inch
ginger garlic paste : 1/4 tspn
salt : 1/2 tspn
chilly powder : 1/2 tspn
turmeric : 1/4 tspn
garam masala: little / pinch
dry descinatedcoconut + dry fried coriander seeds powder : 1 1/2 tspn
coriander leaves : 10 strigs
PREPARATION :-
- First wash chama dumpalu and boil them in cooker by adding water and 1/2 tspn salt for 3 whistles.
- Chop onion , tomato , greenchillies , and peel out the skin of chama dumpalu.
- Heat a pan add oil , wholegaram masalas , onion , ginger garlic paste .
- After onion is fried fully add tomatoes.
- After tomato is fully fried add salt , chilly powder , turmeric , garam masala. mix well.
- Pour 1/2 tumbler water (125 ml ) . Add chama dumpalu and mix well. becoz of its stickiness itwill thicken the gravy.
- after it boils fully add dry descinated coconut + coriander seeds powder , coriander leaves .
- Switch off the stove and ur tasty chama dumpala curry is ready to serve with rice.

i have referred the chamala dumpala curry to check my gyan.
ReplyDeletethis is how it was made and i recollected. i made the same step by step like as suggested by you. I added red chilli powder to give the zing and kill the tamarind smell.

hi preethi, ur recipe is perfect, just the authentic way even pics gave right idea how to put chillies etc, my mom told me but dont remembr step by step so was quickly referring to it and found urs, thank you... going to try tmrw...
